Translation
|
The forecourt 7 (muṉṟu) (is the gift) of Koṟṟantai 8 (I)ḷavaṉ.

Locus
|
On the first stone bed (from left) outside the western cave on the southern face of the hill. The top layer of the rock floor has sheared off carrying away part of the first line.

Notes
|
1. These two letters are marked by the puḷḷi.
2. TVM and RN read e.
3. This letter is damaged and the rest of the line is lost. The three short horizontal lines seen to the upper left of this letter seem to be later scratches.
4. The reading is mu as pointed out by RN.
5. [i*] is supplied from the context.
6. As in RN. cf. LT muṉṟil.
7. The 'forecourt' is the spacious rock floor with a number of stone beds outside the cave.
