Notes
1. A short perpendicular line above and to the right of this letter is identified as a puḷḷi by Siromoney and Jebarajan (1978). On close examination in situ, it is seen to be a thin scratch on the rock surface.
2. pikkaṉ.
3. Read veṉ-. cf. LT veṉ 'victory'.
4. 'of the stone bed' is understood from the context.
